The below set outlines the high level overview of the new Lifetime HV Battery Warranty policy. The detailed T&C are available as part of the owner’s manual of respective vehicles.
Lifetime* HV battery warranty with unlimited** kms for 1st registration; 10^ years / 2^ lakh kms for 2nd registration.
Lifetime* HV battery warranty with unlimited** kms for 1st registration; 8^ years / 1.6^ lakh kms for 2nd registration.
Lifetime* HV battery warranty with unlimited** kms for 1st registration; 8^ years / 1.6^ lakh kms for 2nd registration.
*The term ‘Lifetime’ refers to the period of fifteen years from the first date of registration of the vehicle at the local regional transport office, in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
**The term ‘Unlimited’ is on the assumption of fair usage by a customer for personal use of the vehicle and therefore excludes extra-ordinary or usage outside the ordinary course as would be reasonably expected for vehicle not being used for commercial / trade purposes.
*** It is incumbent on every second (or subsequent) owner to inform TATA Passenger Electric Mobility Limited of the vehicle ownership transfer for Lifetime HV Battery Warranty to apply. The lifetime HV Battery Warranty shall not be available to the second or subsequent owner in absence of such notification.
^For every sale of vehicle second registration onwards, the date of first registration and kilometer coverage starting from such date of first registration, shall be considered as the baseline for calculating the said term of years and said coverage of Kms. Respectively.
The Lifetime HV Battery Lifetime warranty is exclusively applicable under the following vehicle types and conditions:
This warranty does not extend to non-private registrations, including vehicles used for display, demonstration, test drives, courtesy purposes, commercial operations, fleet management, taxi services, or other company vehicle uses. In each such instance, the HV battery warranty shall be limited to
Private registrations held in the name of a company, corporate body, firm, trust, or similar entities, where the vehicle is being used for commercial / trade purposes.
In the event the HV Battery falls below minimum 70% of its State of Health (“SOH”) of nominal energy at any time during the warranty period, then TPEM shall either repair / replace the HV Battery to achieve the following:
It is clarified that the HV Battery, just like all other lithium-ion or other heavy material batteries, shall undergo gradual power and energy loss over the course of time and use. Unless such gradual loss results in a depreciation of the SOH value for the HV Battery below said threshold of 70%, the HV Battery Warranty being offered herein shall not apply.
